Hi All,
I am planning to create new network. Following are the sites
1) Primary site
2) DR Site
3) Client site A
4) Client site B
5) Client site C.
I am planning to configure this network on OSPF and the sites will have area as given below
Area 0 For primary site - All other sites are physically connected to this site via P2P Link
Area 1 at Client site A - All other sites are physically connected to this site via P2P Lin
Area 2 at Client site B - All other sites are physically connected to this site via P2P Lin
Area 3 at Client site C.- All other sites are physically connected to this site via P2P Lin
Area ? at DR site - All other sites are physically connected to this site via P2P Lin
My question is shall i keep the DR site also in area 0 as when DC site is completely down in that case intera area routes will not get populated due to non availability of area 0. Hope i am making sense in my question.

Hello Nirmal,
If you can share network diagram it would be much more clear . As in OSPF Area 0 is a backbone area so it's important that disaster recovery (DR site) should be in Area 0.
Hope it helps

Hi Nirmal,
It should be Area 0. If your Primary site goes down your client will not get isolated only because of DR site will provide all routes only , if it is in Area 0 .
Hope it helps,
Regards
