Hi all,
I config an OSPF network with a virtual link, I think my config is ok but in fact it's fail, the route can not exchange between the virtual link area and the backbone. when I use "show ip ospf virtual-link", there is the following output:
Virtual Link OSPF_VL0 to router 223.0.0.3 is down
Run as demand circuit
DoNotAge LSA allowed.
Transit area 2, Cost of using 65535
Transmit Delay is 1 sec, State DOWN,
Timer intervals configured, Hello 10, Dead 40, Wait 40, Retransmit 5
the output said that the virtual link is down, but I can ping the 223.0.0.3, the same is the other end of the virtual link. Can anybody give me some idea ? Thank You!
Best Regards
Teru Lei

It is not really possible to say with the information you have supplied. We would need to look at the configuration and a
debug ip ospf adj
might help.

Hard to say, but do you use authentication on area 0? If so than you need authentication on the virtual link as well.
It works better if you give a show ip ospf virtual-link from the other router or the configuration.
