Hi,

Having doubts in some of the NSSA concepts..

Is it allowed to have more than one ASBR in an NSSA..?

If yes, then say,I have 2 ASBRS in an NSSA,and both having routes to a particular external network..AFAIK,In the NSSA ABR,type 7 to type 5 conversion happens to the routes learned by both the ASBRS,by default .So is it possible to prevent the type 7 to type 5 conversion(at the ABR) for a particular route learned from an ASBR .?

Thanks in advance,

Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

you can have as many ASBRs for an NSSA as you want. All within reason and sensible constraints ofcourse.

Here's a section on LSA filtering and how to prevent Type 7 LSA from being translated to Type 5 LSAs :
