It is possible to have PPP enabled on a AUX0. In this way, the AUX0 port can be used as dedicated async ppp enabled interface which can be put in a Terminal Server.
However, small routers sometimes do not have an AUX0 port. Hence, only a CON0 port is available. Is there a means to have PPP enabled on the CON0?
Many Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards,
Kurt

Hello Kurt,
The quick answer is that you cannot route traffic over the console port.
I think the reason is for stability of our products - if your config routed traffic over the console port, and for some reason you could not telnet, there would be no way to access the device.
