Pings between c5505 supervisors WS-X5530 and

When we up a trunk ISL between a port fastethernet WS-X5530 and other port fastethernet WS-X5203, the pings more big that 2000 bytes no progress to other 5505. Why?

The default mtu size is 1500. packets that are bigger than this will be fragmented. However if the DF bit is set, then fragmentation does not happen and the packet is dropped.
