port security with VMPS

Hi,
we´re using Cat. 4006 and 35xx switches.
My it manager wants to assure that only one fixed mac address can attach to a specified port.
I was thinking of implementing this with VMPS but as far as I understand VMPS it´s only possible to tie mac addresses to VLANs but not mac addresses to ports.
Am I right?
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

you are correct, VMPS is not right feature, you need port security feature
to achieve your goal
