Private VLAN configuration

Hi all,

i'm going to test the PVLAN on my cat6509.

I've the FWSM and IDSM2 on the same chassis.

If i not use the PVLAN right now, it is possible to configure them after ( when the swith in on production with vlan) or i must do something as prerequirement ( such as configuring primary vlan or other) ??

Hi,

You can configure the the PVLAN any time.

However,if you have to configure PVLAN in the production environment using the existing VLAN ID as primary, there will be a downtime while migration.

I would suggest to go with PVLAN design from the beginint itself, before deploying in the production environment.
