problem on catalyst 2924XL

HI,

I have a catalyst 2924 XL connected to two federator ( catalyst 4506 ) with fast Ethernet ports.

One port is bloked bye STP.

I have this message on catalyst 2924 :

%CDP-4-NATIVE_VLAN_MISMATCH: Native VLAN mismatch discovered on FastEthernet0/24

(0), with c4506-1 FastEthernet4/2 (8).

%CDP-4-NATIVE_VLAN_MISMATCH: Native VLAN mismatch discovered on FastEthernet0/23

(0), with c4506-2 FastEthernet4/2 (8).

What can be the problem and if there is any solution?

Have you set the ports up as trunks on the 2924 and both 4506's? Is the network flat or does it have VLANs?

i.e.

2924XL - switchport mode trunk

switch trunk encapsulation dot1q

4506 - set trunk 4/2 on dot1q (VLAN numbers, if using VLANs)

Hi,

the problem is that the catalyst 2924 doesn't support trunk mode. the port in the federator who is connected to the catalyst is in VLAN 2 and all ports in catalyst are in nativa VLAN 1.
