I have a cisco 3745 with a t1 controller module connecting via a full t1 ppp link to an ibm 2210 router. We cannot get the interface on the cisco router to come up and establish communications. We are not using an external csu/dsu.
Any help?

Can you use a cisco 3745 on both sides to rule out whether the problem is with hardware or the link, try swapping the cards and the line .

The link in question is actually up and running currently between two 2210s. It's not a new ppp link. It's only when we move it to the 3745 on the one side that it doesn't come up.

Do you have a link light on the t1 module?

Yes we do. No Alarms at all but when you look at the interface it shows as "up" down" it never gets to "up" "up".

make sure your encapsulation and time slot settings match on both sides.

Here is a link to a flow chart I use for troubleshooting t1 issues.
