Hi All,
when reloading a c4500 router with the following cmd,
Router(boot)>en
Router(boot)#reload
Proceed with reload? [confirm]
it goes to rommon 1 > mode. Please see below for full output. I had successfully erased the nvram data just prior to what is below. I was expecting it to reload the IOS again, not go into rommon mode. What am I not understanding..? Cheers.

Probably the IOS in flash is corrupted, or you accidentally erased flash image ?? You can restore it if you have a backup copy of a 4500 image with you or you can download one off CCO software center using your CCO login and password. Load that software into a TFTP server (running on PC), connect a cross over cable to the router's e0 or e1 interface and when you boot into
Router(boot)# mode, assign an IP to ethernet interface and do a "copy tftp flash" to download the image from TFTP server into flash. Once the download is complete, a reload of the router should restore the box.

Hello,
can you try to manually load the image with the ´boot flash:xxxx´ command (where xxxx is the name of the image as seen when the command dir flash: is issued) ?
Also, try and set the configuration register value to '0x102.
Another possibility is that you have no valid image, check this document for the ROMMON recovery procedure:
CISCO 4000 SERIES ROUTERS
ROMmon Recovery for the Cisco 4500 and 4700 Series Routers

check your boot statement in the configuration.
Is it pointing to the correct file?
