Restore Backup Config from Production Switch to New Switch

Is it possible to restore a Backup Config from a in service switch to a new switch?

EX: I have a Cisco 3650 with Version 15.  I purchased a refurbished Cisco 3650 with the base Version 12 on it.  My thought process is that I would like to clone the in production Switch with Version 15 over to the refurbished Switch for a backup.

The refurbished switch boots to "Switch", and I am able to "en", but being who I am I get lost at that point.

Thank you.

I assume you are going to upgrade the new switch to 15 so it's at the same rev?  If the 15 switch is using a .bin file, you can just copy the file from flash to your tftp server and copy it to the new switch.  You could probably just copy the config from the 15 to the 12 switch and it should work, I don't think there are any major differences that would prevent it from working.

Thank you.

To clarify:

Prodution-SW#copy flash: tftp:
Source filename []? c3560.....bin
Address or name of remote host []? xx.xx.xx.xx
Destination filename [c3560.....bin]?

Backup-SW#copy tftp: flash:
Source filename []? c3560.....bin
Address or name of remote host []? xx.xx.xx.xx
Destination filename [c3560.....bin]?
