Dear all,

I am having 3662 series router. It is running OSPF and BGP. It is running 1 E1 link and some clients.

Its components are as follows.

Flash:16 MB

RAM:2 in no. 64 MB each

IOS:16 MB

It hangs once in a day daily.

Regards,

Tushar Garg.

It sounds like it could be a memory leak. Try updating your IOS.

Do you have any of the logs?

Does it happen the same time every day?

Are your interfaces showing any / consistant errors?

Is there any chance that there's a daily "power glitch" that could be corrupting the operation of the routers?

Please provide as much information about any errors, logs, or circumstance as you can.

Thanks

Scott

Can you provide more information about the router hang. Does it stop passing traffic completely? Is it un-responsive to pings? Can you telnet to it? Is it just internet access that stops working?

I would gather as much information as possible (including show tech) when the router is hung and do as many tests as possible, ping, telnet etc. to figure whats not working exactly.

It could be a configuration error, or some time of memory leak but its better to try and associate the problem to a specific bug or to have it investigated for a possible new bug.

Depending on the environment. Upgrading IOS until one works is not a feasible solution.

U try replacing the modules & reinserting it one by one & capture the console
