RPS (Redundant Power System) and Catalyst Switch

Two questions regarding the RPS (Redundant Power System) and Catalyst 3750 switches:

1. Does anybody know whether or not Catalyst 3750 switches work with RPS 600?

2. If I use RPS 675 to work with 3750 switches, can I connect the RPS and the switch to different power source? To be honest, it's not recommended in Cisco docs. But just wondering what will be the potential issue if I do so.

Thanks in advance.

Joseph

Hi Joseph,

RPS 600 does not support catalyst 3570.

RPS 600 supported devices are :

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/products_data_sheet09186a0080091b4f.html

RPS 675 and 300 will support Catalysts 3750.If you connect RPS and switch with a different power sources the switch , there will not be any problems. I have practically implemented this setup.
