We're getting some sporatic logged interface errors: "%AMDP2_FE-3-RXOVERFLO: FastEthernet0/0 Rx FIFO Overflow". I'm also seeing a fairly high number of dropped input packets - around 5000 per day - on an interface that's not seeing a large amount of input traffic. All drops are RP drops, none are under SPD.
Show buffers appears clean and show process cpu doesn't indicate any processes with high usage. NBAR is enabled on this interface, but only for outbound traffic.
Cisco docs state that input drops are never caused by hardware errors, leaving only software issues. IOS ver 12.2(8)T1 if it matters. Would a newer version help?? If so, what are some stable versions??

Dan

oops - good point. It's a 3640 running BGP.
Error Msg Deocder found no entry. Checks all bugs, found nothing as well.
Is there a later 12.2 release that's known to be stable for BGP??
Thanks,
Dan
