Hello Guys ,

I have a 1721 router with a ethernet and a WIC 2T smart serial card.I am have to do DLSW and SDLC , but enfortunetly i am not been able to run both these commands on my router.Nor " encapsulation sdlc " in my serial interface .IOS version is 12.2

Can you guys please help me as what is the root cause of my problem. and is there is any other hardware or software IOS is required for the same .

What feature set do you have on that router. You probably need the Enterprise feature set (js).

IOS version :12.3(2XE) Early deployment Release Software (FCI)

C1700-Y-MZ-123-2XE.bin

32 KB of NVRAM

32768 KB of FLASH .

Can you please let me what is the minimum version of IOS i require for 1721 to configure SDLC & DLSW.

You need to go with one of the following feature sets:

ADVANCED ENTERPRISE SERVICES c1700-adventerprisek9-mz.12.3-2.XE

ENTERPRISE BASE c1700-entbase-mz.12.3-2.XE

ENTERPRISE SERVICES c1700-entservicesk9-mz.12.3-2.XE

IP/ADSL/IPX/AT/IBM PLUS c1700-bnr2sy7-mz.12.3-2.XE

IP/ADSL/IPX/AT/IBM/FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 3DES c1700-bk9no3r2sy7-mz.12.3-2.XE
