hello,
i had a similar conversation in the forum lan, switching and routing but i didn't get the non plus ultra answer in fact.
i'm going to do some proactive management and i'm looking for some tips, white papers, discussions and so on for sensible thresholds on cisco devices.
in fact i want to get informed about problems on interfaces, with cpu load, memory usage , broadcasts.... some time before the performance goes down.
i'm sure there are several counters or stats that point to problems long before something bad happens with the network.
for example a counter should never leave zero stat or another counter should not count more than 50 errors in 5 min or so...
and exactly these inforamtion i'm looking for
is there anyone who may serve me ?
kind regards
chris kulinski

As such I do not find a single location where you could get a list of all the threshold values for the best performance of Cisco devices. You could find it for particular devices, using the cisco Search.

The document is a little outdated in terms of code levels and device models, but gives a general outline of how you should approach determining baselines and such to get your own thresholds. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2393/prod_technical_reference09186a00800a9e2f.html
