serial interface speed check

Hi,

does anybody know how to check the actual speed on a DTE serial port?

I've got my Cisco 1600 connected to a provider DCE which provides the clock.

I'd like to check that the speed is correct.

I think that sh controllers serial 0 should show the actual interface speed but the command output shows just some hex numbers and I haven't found any explanation on CCO.

Regards,

Milan

Unfortunately there is no way to determine exactly what the speed a serial line is running at on a 1600.

The best you can do is to use the input and output byte counts for the last 5 minutes to see if they match the utilisation figure which is calculated using the configured bandwidth statement. If they match, then the bandwidth is correct.
