First of all, you will need to modify the cable connecting the router to the modem. No control signals are exchanged between the modem and the router, so you will need to hardwire some loopbacks on the cable connection.

After you have modified the cable, connect it to the router and modem and perform a "show interface serial 0" on the router. All control signals ( DCD, DSR, DTR, RTS, CTS) shoud be "up". Next, initiate a loopback on your

modem (towards the router). Serial interface 0 should be "up", and your line protocol should be "up (looped)". If you do not get this indication, you need to double-check your cable modification. Email me if you need further help.

So far i have been successful on all that, i have enabled looback on the modem to the router, s0 is up & working ok. I can ping & telnet diff Lans. All i need is router security . Like in the interfaces e.g s0 or e0 i want to increase security on logging in. On the access list, i have 3 Lans A B & C. A is a Wan link Lan i have connected to my Satellite router int S0. B is a Wan link lan connected to network router. Lan C is the main host Lan also connected to the network router and satellite router. The connection of lan B and C has been existing so LAN A is a new link. I don't want Lan B to learn about the satellite router and lan A to learn about lan B. C should be intelligent (know and be able to access both Lans. Advise. I apprecite very much for your help.
