Hi,

I would appreciate if someone can help to advise what does it mean by "interface resets" when sh int fa0/43 is entered in the prompt. I encountered 2 interface resets(below is the output), what is the cause of it?

Please advise.

Thanks

christina

Hi,

Interface resets means - no. of times the interface has been completely resetted. There can be several reasons for it like - if interface is physically down and came back up then it will show reset counter as 2.Or if somebody shut down the interface from switch prompt and then no shut it then it will show reset counters as 2.Is this interface participating in HSRP or not.I can't see errors on the interface though so we can rule out any media error.

Kindly let me know if it helps and rate this post if it does.

cheers

Sachin

I'm having a similar situation. The reset counter is showing 2. The output error is 0. The difference is I'm having HSRP running on that interface.
