How do you go from Router mode to Switch mode on a Catalyst 6509?

Your question is not clear. If you are running hybrid software and are in MSFC and want to get back to the switch side, you can press "control C" 3 times(if you used switch console command) or you can type in "exit"(if you used session command)

If you are talking about converting back from Native IOS to hybrid, the following page should help

The Cat 6509 is a switch but to give it router capabilities you just have to put a router card(MSFC) into the switch.

In the SUP2 module there is a "console mode" button which will switch betwen the two consoles.. Else U generally put "switch console" to operate between router mode and switch mode.

If you have migrated from the CatOS to native IOS(thats what i think you have done), there is no concept of moving between switch and router mode, all configurations are done from the same mode.
