Simulation of Frasi circuit

Does anyone out there know how to simulate a frame to ATM circuit in a lab environment? The frame side is using a Cisco 2621 router with a T1 DSC/CSU Wic Card and IOS of 12.1(3a)T1. The ATM side is using a 7206 VXR router with an 8-port Multi-Channel T1 PRI card and an 8-port T1 IMA card and an IOS of 12.2(2)T. We are unsure of how to pin-out the connecting cat5 cables and which configuration works best. Thanks to any and all.

Hello,

you can't connect a T1 (Frame-Relay) card to a ATM-IMA card (using PIN 1,2,4,5). If you want to simulate this, you must use a router (ATM and FR) in

the middle who will translate between FR and ATM.

In a Cisco powered FR/ATM WAN the protocol translation will be done by a

complex gateway which can be a ALM card e.g.

In that case the ATM router should use the default encapsulation (AAL5SNAP)

and the Cisco router must use the frame-relay encapsulation IETF.

Hope this helps

kind regards
