Hi,

I have two separate network and would like to combine them together through a single ethernet cable. The first group is using 6x3com swtiches (3300, 4900 etc). The second group is using cisco 6500 series.

Currently the two networks are connected by a single windows 2000 device with two NIC card as the windows server is required to access by both group for some immediately purpose, so I just buy another NIC to solve the problem. Please see the following for the current network diagram

3com

When I connect the cable between 3com and cisco 6500 as shown below

The cisco 6500 complain about the spanning issue.

I receive the following message from cisco error log

"%SPANTREE-2-RX_PORTFAST:Received BPDU on PortFast enable port. Disabling 2/1"

"%PAGP-5-PORTFROMSTP:Port 2/1 left bridge port 2/1"

Can anyone tell me what going wrong?

Thanks

Best Regards

Raymond
