I have 2 clients here in Scotland with AVVID (Call Manager)
solutions.
Both clients have there networks built using 3524PWL CATS on
the edge serving the IP phones.
I have the same problem at both sites.
When using internet explorer 5.5 or CWW to access visual
manager of the CAT 35xx switches we are constantly being
asked for the CAT password. This problem started after
Jan 6th.
I have loaded the patch from
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cww60
on one the sites as he has Cisco Works for Windows.
This has made no difference.
One site uses CWW the other site just uses the browser.
Can you please point me in the right direction.
Thank you

Have a look at CSCdv87542 using CCO Bug Toolkit. Visual Switch Manager works with java plug-in 1.2.2 only(http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/java) and causes problems with JPI 1.3.1 that comes with CWW.

Thank you for the info.
I will try loading the JAVA 1.2.2 next week when I am back at work.

This is a bit of a catch 22 situation.
Visual Switch Manager is not supported by the later Java Plug-In 1.3.1.
The workaround is to use JRE 1.2.2 on a machine only used for CiscoView/VSM access, not accesss to the CW2K server as this will force the download of the later JRE 1.3.1 code.
Have you tried clearing out your browser Java cache ?
Alternatively see what you get by browsing to http://device_ip/basiccfg.html

This is fixed in the latest version of the 12.0.5WC3 XL code. They both use 1.3.1 Java Plugin
