When I upgrade a existing 6509 catalyst switch with a SUP720, what else do I need to have to support this new module?
I am replacing a Supervisor 2 with only a PFC2. There is no MSFC2 today.

You will need a high speed fan tray and atleast 2500W power supply to support Sup720

Hi Dhwall,
Just make sure you have the right code for your sup720 and do not insert in slot 1 and slot 2. Insert in slot 5 or 6.
Requires installation of a high-speed fan tray
Policy Feature Card 3A (PFC3A)
Multilayer Switch Feature Card 3 (MSFC3) with 64-MB bootflash device and 512-MB DRAM

Here you go with the fan tray model number
Supervisor Engine 720 requires WS-C6K-9SLOT-FAN2
