Switch Uplinks

Hi All:

We are budgeting an upgrade for our network - cisco 2940/2950 for the switch closets and (2) 4506 core(s)). The issue we are facing now is trying to decide which uplink cabling to invest in - fibre or cable. Right now, it would be $15k more if we do fibre. I would appreciate any input you could offer in helping me justify th 15k cost.

If you can run cable and keep it within specs using cat 6 cable then I wouldn't spend an extra 15000 just to have fiber as long as you don't have to run the cable thru high interference areas like factory floors etc...
