Switches designing

Hi All,

We’re designing switches in the enterprise network. We’d like to make it easy to manage and also high availability service. The attached is our design but we don’t sure it’s correct. Does anyone please advice us?

Thanks a lot,

Nitass

Your organization must be quite rich. The diagram that you have drawn is that of a collapsed backbone but in general there is only one pair of Core/Dist switches in such a network.

The idea to use L3 in the core would also be my preferred solution.

The link below contains valuable tips on how a campus network can be optimally designed:

Sorry I forgot to tell you that each pair of core/distribution switches is located on the different building. So you will see the 2 pairs of core/distribution switches.

As the attached, I’m not sure about the interlink connection (L2 trunk) between the core/distribution switch. Is it necessary? Which layer does it should operate? L2 or L3?

Thanks a lot,

Nitass
