We are receiving the following SYSLOG event (every few mins):
Sep 17 07:35:51 [1.x.x.x.204.230] 8632: Sep 17 07:35:50: %CI-3-PSFAIL: Power supply 1 failure
We expect every production network device to resolve cleanly, so suspect this is an unknown test/lab device.
Can any advise if the "204.230" attached to the IP address is telling us anything of use, and whether it can help us track down this device ?
Any URL to back up reasoning would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Fred.

The messages "%CI-3-PSFAIL" appears when there is a power supply failure. Due to the power supply failure, the fan on that slot may also fails.
When you see the above error messages, take the following steps:
Ensure that the power supply that logs the above message is fully seated into the router. If not, insert it firmly. The router need not be powered down for this activity.
If the power supply is fully seated but the messages still appear, it is possible that the power supply has failed. In this event, create a service request with the TAC.
If the replacement of the power supply still does not address the issue, the CI card needs to be replaced. The power supply connector pins are connected to the CI card connector pins, and the pins on the CI card might be bent. To address this problem, create a service request with the TAC.

Thanks, for your reply, but the problem was not linked to the power supply issue, but the syslog event format, and how we locate the device, and more specifically, what the suffix dotted numbers is advising us.
Cheers,
Fred.
