tags in vlans

Hi!!

When we are doing vlans, the tagging process is transparent for the final users. I mean, the tag is only present between the backbone. Then, the tag is removed before the user gets the frame.

Is this correct?? Is it possible for the final user to get a frame tagged?? Is it possible to configure the switch to avoid this behaviour and to make the process transparent for the user???

Thanks

ISL or dot1q tagging is only on the trunk networks for a normal data traffic, which means that the user is unaware of all these happening. This happens when a user from one vlan tries talking with another. This is meant only when traffic forwarding comes into picture to other vlans.

Hope this helps !!
