Temperature of 4006 L2 switch

I used "show test" command to check the temperature of 4006 switch,the result is as follows,and no error occur:

4006> sh test

Environmental Status (. = Pass, F = Fail, U = Unknown, N = Not Present)

Temperature: . Chassis Temperature: 47 degC (113 degF)

But the specification of 4006's temperature is 0 to 40¡ãC. Does this switch work right?Is there any hidden trouble in it?

Hello,

the operating temperature, 32 to 104° F (0 to 40° C), is the temperature of the room or location where the switch should operate in. It has nothing to do with the chassis temperature. Your 47 degC is ok, it is a normal value. The switch will shut itself down when the chassis temperature goes above 79 degC.
