testing back-to-back t1 CSU/DSU's without actual circuit

I am trying to test 2 2600s routers with fractional T1 wan cards without having a data circuit. How can I get the 2 t1 wan cards to talk without an actual

circuit between them. I cannot get the DCD signal to manually come up? I have tried using the ignore dcd

but doesnot seem to work. Also I am using a straight thru rj45 to connect them both. Can anyone help?

The biggest issue is the straight through cable. To operate back to back (without a circuit) you will need a cable that crosses transmit to receive.

Like Rick suggested..Cross pins 1 to 4 and 2 to 5..You will need a crimping tool to do this.

Thanks for the pointers. I built me own cable and am testing successfully.
