Are you typing a "y" or just pressing enter at the "Do you wish you continue?"  You have to type "y" to signify "yes."  The default is to abort ("n" or "no"), since it erases flash.

Invoke this command for disaster recovery only.

rommon>5

you can see it wont let me type yes or no. as all of sudden rommon> appears

What TFTP software are you using?

What terminal emulator?

From the output it looks like you pressed return at the y/n prompt.  It doesn't even seem to try to run TFTP at all.

Generally the TFTP address is the same as the laptop address.

Hello

Readonly ROMMON initialized
rommon 1 > IP_ADDRESS=192.168.1.3
rommon 2 > IP_SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0
rommon 3 > DEFAULT_GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
rommon 4 > TFTP_SERVER=192.168.1.10
rommon 5 > TFTP_FILE=c1841-advipservicesk9-mz.124-11.t
rommon 6 > tftpdnld

If your using a crossover cable then try;

1) default-gateway should be the same as the tftp server address
2) tftp file should have a .bin extension
3) once the config is applied save you changes by SET command
4) disable a/v and fw on the pc and make sure its nic is set to auto negotiate

I'm with Phillip here.  You didn't/couldn't enter "y" so the process was aborted.

Try another process to get the IOS into the CF.  Do you have a multi-media card reader available?  If you have, insert the CF into the multi-card read and connect the card reader to your PC.  Copy the IOS from the PC to the card reader and eject.

In your configuration you are not giving the complete file name. File name should have .bin extension with it. Otherwise router will never download this file from TFTP because it will not get the exact file on TFTP. Hope this will help you.
