I am running a number of Cisco 1751 routers over 64K serial links. I monitor the network using netlatency, which is a bandwidth monitoring tool. Netlatency is showing that a particular router is showing a lot of outbound discards on its serial interface, and to date it puts this at 40%. When I do a show interface the output queues are showing lots of drops on queue 2:.
My question is can I increse the transmit buffer size, and were can I find the information to do this.
any advice would be gratefully received

You can increase the transmit buffers accordingly. But that would not help unless you have the right queing mechanisms and also traffic shapers and policers. You check out the QoS support page available at:
