My question is i try make a trunk between a 1750 abd 3500XL, in the FE config mode i can make the subinterface but i cant specificated the encapsulation type went set the ip add and mask the 1750 display this msg.

"Configuring IP routing on a LAN subinterface is only allowed if that

subinterface is already configured as part of an IEEE 802.10, IEEE 802.1Q, or ISL vLAN. "

....is posible make the trunk between the 17xx and the 35xx ????

Looks like you have the wrong feature set. You need an IP plus image on the router to do vlan-routing. From the error messages I understand that you are using just IP.

The solution will be to upgrade your router with an IP plus image.

If you do this, it can be made to work.

Actually the error message indicates that you do not have a ISL/dot1q encapsulation under the interface. However, I believe that the 1750 is not capable of trunking.

I don't think ISL/dot1q trunking is supported on 1750 .

Here is the URL looks for isl

but here is the list of routers that are supported.
