I have dual 6509's configured with dual msfc's and configured with hsrp. When I use the show standy conmmand on each 6509 I noticed that some of the same vlans are showing up as active and standy on both 6509, I thought one should be a standby and the other be active. Is this normal and if not what are the pros and cons. Here is the attachment that describes what I'm talkin about. ex: vlan 900 shows up as active on router #1, the same vlan 900 shows up active on router #2. you can see that some vlans show up as standby on both routers
any suggestions?

You are quite correct, One should be active and one should be standby for each HSRP group. If both show as active, it usually means that they cannot see traffic coming from the other router but I can think of no reason why both would be in standby.

Check your groups, as far as I know you have to be in the same group to use HSRP:
ex: vlan 900 is in Group 110 on router 1
vlan 900 is in Group 120 on router 2
