Is it possible to utilize the uplinkfast feature with the following setup.
Two core switches: Core switch 1 is the root bridge for vlans 2/3. Core switch 2 is the root bridge for vlans 4/5. These switches are trunked in a triangular topology with one access level switch which has vlans 2-5.
Is it possible to utilize uplinkfast on both uplinks from the access switch or is this feature designed fore Core switch 1 to be the rootbridge for vlans 2-5, leaving the second uplink from the access switch to Core switch 2 dormant until a failure?

It will work fine the way you want it to. Uplinkfast will operate independently for each VLAN.

BTW, as I expect you know, you should only enable uplinkfast on the access switch!

Hi,
Yes u can use Uplinkfast as per ur requirement..
Uplinkfast is recommended only on Access switches, because whenever u enable uplinkfast on any switch it increases bridge priority of that switch to 49,152, prevents it to become root switch.
The port cost of access switch is also increased to 3000 making those ports as undesirable as paths to root switch for any downstream switches.
UPLINKFAST command is not allowed on root switch.

HI, you can utilize uplinkfast under your requeriments.
One exception: you can´t utilize uplink fast for 1 vlan. The feature is enable for all vlan range.
Best Regards.
