Hi,

We are an ISP network and we are about to have a new conenction with a new upstream provider, what do you think is the highlight information we need to know about the provider before deciding taking it as our new upstream provider? Besides cost, i think we need to know the peer connections they have with another upstream providers, the mechanisism to report failures, time of responses and levels of scalement. I appreciate any suggestion, thanks!

Basic thing to be considered when online with a upstream provider is latency , ping response . download speed , CAR which is expected to apply and the SLA of UPTIME Then , as you told he peer connections they have with another upstream providers, the mechanisism to report failures, time of responses and levels of scalement also should be taken care of.
