Hi all,
I've been looking for an answer to this for the past hour and I can't seem to find one. I have tried this on two separate computers and got the same results on both computers.
I bought a serial to usb adapter on amazon. I have connected it to a cisco console cable and plugged it into my cisco 2811 router. I downloaded the Cisco_usbconsole_driver_3_1.zip from the cisco support website and installed the version matching each computers OS (32-bit and 64-bit). On both computers I have received an error after installing. I reboot the computer, insert the usb end into my computer(s) and immediately receive a device failed to install message.
I check my device manager and under USB devices I get "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"
Any suggestions? I'm starting to believe it may just be the cable is bad even though it's basically brand new.
Thanks

Hi,
Your machin
power options 》shutdown setting 》 turn on fast startup
Try to disable fast startup, it will help the machin to recognize external drives
Hope that helps
