Is this possible? The tutorial I have seems based on a 7000 series. I don't have the encapsulation command on the router in the sun-interface. I need it to understand ISL. It is IOS 12.1.
Thanks,
D

Which 2600 do you have?
If it is a 2610/2611 it only has one/two 10Mb interfaces which do not support isl or dot1q.
All other models (including 2610XM/2611XM) should support it, if you run an IP PLUS release. See http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/50.shtml
Not sure what you mean when you talk about "sun" interface?

802.1Q encapsulation is now available on the built-in 10BaseT Ethernet interfaces of the Cisco 2610, 2611, and 2612 with Cisco IOS software 12.2(2)T and subsequent releases.

You're probably talking about "sub-interface". Posting a 'show ver' output from your router will help.

Thanks. I'll post the ver info if I have more questions. I'll try upgrading the IOS and see if that does it. oh, BTW, I did mean sub-interfaces... oops
