Can I have two VLANs with the same name but with differents numbers in a VTP Domain?

As far as I know, VLAN names have to be unique as well.

I suppose you can have 2 VLANs with same name. Because the name defined is just a string. Communication works on the basis of VLAN ID. So if VLAN ID's are different there is no problem

I don't agree.

VMPS is using VLAN names, e.g.

See what happens if you try to add two VLANs with identical VLAN name to VLAN database on Cat2924XL running IOS 12.0(5)WC5a:

sw38a#vlan d

sw38a(vlan)#vlan 5 name pokus

VLAN 5 added:

Name: pokus

sw38a(vlan)#vlan 6 name pokus

VLAN 6 added:

Name: pokus

sw38a(vlan)#exit

VLAN #5 and #6 have an identical name: pokus

APPLY failed.

Exiting....

So it's impossible.
