vrf limitation

We have seen that in a Catalyst 3550 you can only define 7 different vrf's. I need to configure a lot more (at least 30). What equipment do I need? It must be a layer 3 switch, if it is possible.

You can only configure & VRFs due a limitation in HW.

A Cataylst 3750 Metro might be a consideration, but it does not quite support the 30 mark you are looking for, only 26 i'm afraid.

I have read that Catalyst 3750 switches does not support vrf yet. And I only know SMI and EMI 3750, I don't know what does "metro" means in that type of switches.

It's a different type of Cat3750, it has some extra HW in it that enables it to do MPLS and EoMPLS in HW. For more info check the following link:
