HI,
I have a question here.
I have serial 64k and a backup ISDN2 tat dials to ISDN30 PRI Interface at Headquater if any problems happen to serial interface..
Question is Can i limit the 64k at the BRI interface as I wanna make sure it is the same as the Serial 64k bandwidth..
thanks..!

CAR or a policer would work.
For CAR use the rate-limt command under the interface. To Police setup a "class-map" to defince traffic and a "polciy-map" to police to the required amount.

Just do not bond the call. Leave out PPP Multilink off your dialer interface. The call will connect only at 64k.

Hi Pciaccio,
Thanks for your reply. What is it mean by bond the call?
Just trying to understand about the ppp multilink? Why is it so that leaving PPP Multilink will connect at 64k?
Thanks!

When you use ISDN you normally have (if provisioned) 2B+D. 2 65k data channels plus a D channel for management of the call. If you dial the SPID to your headquarters PRI, leave off the PPP Multilink statement which bonds the call to 128k. The call will only connect at 64k without the statement. The Bandwidth 64 statement is only used for Routing protocol calculations. It will not effect the bandwidth.

Thanks Pciaccio..
Sorry, have another follow-up question. The reason why control is done here is because we are doing Disaster Recovery.
We have 18 devices to dial in to the PRI of the headquaters, and 3 of them needs 128kbps.
15 do not need..So,wondering if when the RODS kicks in..(we are using RODS to kicks in the 18 devices to dial to PRI ISDN No), will the channel not enough to cater to all the 18devices as if all of them bond the call to 128kbps,it will not enough.
At the same time, during normal operation time, we would like it to be what it is..meaning if the devices serial is 128k,then then will follow suit where is 128kbps if backup interface kicks in at isdn.
so, how would i implement this..? thanks!
