Redundant Power Supply. There is a device that you can buy that will give external redundant power to some Cisco devices. If you have RPS on the front then you should see a funny looking plug on the back that also says RPS. The Redudnat Power Supply can handle a few devices at once depending on what model you get

thanx brother for immediate help. I have seen my 2610XM series routers back panel but it has no any special power cable connector for RPS Unit, so why it has RPS LED on its front panel.

I think that Cisco is saving a dime by using the same faceplate for different models. The 2610XM-RPS has the external connector for the RPS. I think that you do not have RPS capability but Cisco didn't want to incur the cost of producing different faceplates. This is just a guess though. Anybpdy else wanna chime in?

Only Catalyst switches have both an AC power supply and an RPS receptacle available simultaneously on the chassis. The 2600 series routers as well as the 3725 router can be ordered with an RPS option but that pretty much replaces your normal AC power module. In short if you order the RPS model of these routers the only way you can power them on is by connecting them to the RPS.
Imran,
The RPS LED will come into play when you actually have an RPS power module installed in the router. If you just ordered the normal 2610XM then it will not have the RPS receptacle so do not be concerned about that LED.
