WS-CAC-3000W

On the Cisco configurator, if you select the 3000W power supply for a 6509 chassis, it offers 2500W rated cables and not 3000W as I would expect. Are these cables of good enough rating for 3000W power supplies? (I guess they must be, but am not sure).

Thanks.

You can choose the cable for 2500W power supplies, the cable is specified in:

Table A-13 3000 W Power Supply Specifications, in the following public link

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a008020e0d3.html#wp1028905

But you have to be carefull about the input voltage, because if you need the 3000W you have to use 200-240V input, if you use 100-120V input the maximum power output is 1400W

I hope the cables are not good enough for 3000w power supplies. 2500W might be the max limit.

Thanks for that. That was exactly what I was after. Maybe they need to rename the cable......
