All,
I am a little confused on the ASR IOS. I am looking to upgrade equipment and I am using the Cisco Feature Navigator.
The old IOS is easy.
Software: IOS
Major Release 15.2S
Release: 15.2(4)S
Platform: 7200-NPE-G2
The new Platform will be ASR1001
(Below is what the resaler said will be loaded)
Cisco IOS Software, ASR1000 Software (X86_64_LINUX_IOSD-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.4(3)S5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
When I input info for second image to compair I do not see the ASR in the Platform (see Image)
I think I do not understand how the ASR is IOS works and how its Licensed.
Can some one please explain it to me.
Does the ASR use IOS XE and not IOS? Or does it use IOS XE on top of IOS? What about the different IOS XE consolidated Packager like Cisco ASR 100 Searies RP1 IP Base w/o crypto.
How can I tell form the below image what consolidated package is comes with?
Cisco IOS Software, ASR1000 Software (X86_64_LINUX_IOSD-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.4(3)S5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Thanks

Good afternood estimated,
I have a question, will you install ASR1001 or ASR1001X? If you will migrate to an ASR1001 you have to know this is a XE IOS device, the equivalent 15.2(4)S IOS for the ASR is 3.7.0S XE IOS, you can see it in this map https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr1000/release/notes/asr1k_rn_rel_notes/asr1k_rn_intro.html see table 1.
Please do not forget to rate useful post.
Best Regards,
