What is best design for routing L3 Building 3850 to Core 7k when using vrf's?
Example.
We have a 7700 core with a VDC set-aside for L3 distribution sites.
We have have 2 vrf's one for data the other for PCI.
The L3 sites are 3850's. Which dont do sub-interfaces. What would be the best design to route all of these 3850 (l3 sites (about 100) to the Core?
Originally i planned to peer based on /30 routed sub-interfaces..but thats not an option.
It had been reccomneded Peering SVI on each 3850...but that would mean like 100 peering /30 svi's on the 7k side...

Hi
Yes you're right, 3850 doesn't support sub interfaces.
On all your sites, do you also have the 2 vrfs?
What type of connections do you have between N7k and sites?
When you say 100 sites, are you referring to 100 different geographical sites?
Thanks
Francesco

You've a reason for not using a trunk on the 3850 side to .Q subinterfaces on a router?
