Network Baelining

I am using CiscoWorks 2000 and I need to get baselines for our network.

What can I take and what tools can I use for them within the CiscoWorks 2000. We have a CiscoProbe attached to 2 core Switches only and the others are edge switches attached to the core so do not have direct connection to the Probe. These edge switches are 4000 series.

Please what baselines can I take. I also have Traffic Director installed? Please point me direclty to the tool to use within the Cisco2000 and what exactly to take.

Thanks

Here's a best practise white paper related to this which may help you out:

Hi,

I would suggest, in addition to the White Paper mentioned by Rizwan, that you take a look at our book "Performance and Fault Management", ISBN 1-576870-180-5.

That book has a good deal of information on building a baseline and using it for planning.

Hope this helps,

Curtis Carrington

Traffic Director was an excellent tool, but lacks some of the needed capabilities to do capacity planning and baselining. The newest version of Traffic Director is nGeniusPerformance Manager v.1.4. The following URL should help get information on this upgrade. www.netscout.com/products/pm.htm
