SNMP Vs ICMP ping

Can any of you guys clarify how a SNMP ping differs from ICMP ping.

ICMP sends echo, SNMP sends query.
For SNMP ping to be successfull you have to have SNMP agent active. Also SNMP runs on a different port than ICMP (ICMP is usually blocked for security reasons).
So while ICMP ping only checks for conectivity, SNMP also checks for correct function of SNMP agent.
