Hi my name is Louis from Bell Canada we add to replaced 2 ws-x6516-ge-tx modules in tow different switchs because of Pinacle reporting CRC errors, on one witch the module was reporting these errors and on the other one all module but this one were reporting the errors. The sitch were running catos 7.4.3. Is there a known issue with there modules or is this a fluke tha we got there errors on tow different sites.

We have seen this before but I don't think it is chronic , we have quite a few 6500's and we are also running 7.4.3 and haven't seen this problem , almost think I would chalk it up to coincidence .

Recommended action from CCO:
If the error is limited to a single module, replace the module. If the error occurs several times, contact your technical support representative.

We had a similar problem with a Catalyst 6500, we have performed soft reset ("reset" command) and hard ("set module power down" and "set module power up") reset but it did not help. The solution was to replace the module.

In one instance the error was limited to a single module, in the other case the errors were reported from all the modules exept the one in trooble. In both cases we fixed it by replacing the module. The question is: is there a known hardware or catos bug because the end user is questionning the relyability of these modules.
