Debugging and telnet

I've used telnet to access my Pix. When I issue the debug command, no debugging info is displayed. Why is this?

Did you do "term mon", plus "logging console debug" and/or "logging monitor debug"? Do you have a terminal plugged into the console, cause some PIX debugs (debug packet for example) will automatically be sent there regardless of where you entered the command.
