Enabling SSH

Please let me know how to enable SSH in routers. Is it require a special IOS ?

Is there any concept like SSH server and Client?

Where can I check whether the ios which my router having will support ssh or not?...

Hi george,

ssh version 1 works with IOS 12.0.5 and more.. SSH V2 support was introduced in 12.1 (19) IOS.. You can configure some simple commands on your router to make SSH work on it.

If I am not mistaken, ssh client and server are available now in security feature sets. As of 12.4 (future version), ssh will be part of the base images.
